Exam Pattern

The DSSSB exam is conducted in two tiers. Tier-I is an online CBT exam and is only qualifying in nature. Final merit and selection are based entirely on Tier-II performance. For some posts, only a single Tier-I exam is held and merit is prepared based on that score.

The Tier-I exam consists of 200 objective-type MCQ questions covering General Awareness, Reasoning, English, Hindi, and Quantitative Aptitude. Each correct answer gives 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The Tier-II exam is subject-specific with 200 marks for the concerned subject and is the main basis for preparing the final merit list.
